“He’s incisive. He’s decisive. He’s a charged particle, and when he’s in the room, what’s around him begins to move, too.”
Wesley Evans is a product manager, creative strategist and applied designer who has worked for some of the world's most innovative tech companies, advertising agencies, non-profits, and educational institutions. His work has led to the launch of numerous features within Snapchat, the construction of a living building, creative strategies for Dun and Bradstreet and multiple Activision brands, as well as a new strategic plan for Hampshire College. "I care deeply about the process of how we get to the final product. Often groups will trade off, engagement or testing in the name of speed. My methods allow us to engage meaningfully with users and stakeholders, while moving at a much greater pace, to achieve results that everyone thought was impossible."
Fascinated by the question of how our future pioneers will live and thrive in complex environments; Wesley’s thesis focused on In-Situ Martian Manufacturing Technology. His work led to the formulation of a new type of concrete that can be produced exclusively with the minerals available in Gale Crater. He furthered the research by re-engineering an open source 3D depositional printer to print a series of human scale objects with that concrete. "My thesis work was driven by my deep desire to bring my experience with user experience research and industrial design into conversation with my passion for human space flight."
“Wesley Evans is a natural team builder and business developer. He did an amazing job bringing together and focusing dynamic fast-paced teams.”
Beyond his work in user experience and applied design, Wesley enjoys creating intimate and enveloping events in places where you would not expect a party.
Wesley subscribes to this quote by Robert Heinlein, " A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." He is proud to be able to do almost everything on this list.
Fortunately, he has not yet had the opportunity to "die gallantly."
